Like every normal 5 year-old, my son Cole has an imaginary friend... where normal stops and my world begins is in the details. It's an imaginary girl friend: Cleopatra. As in "Queen of Egypt". To be very specific, its rather the MUMMY of Cleopatra (and, unfortunately for Ross, not Monica Bellucci).

Just to clarify... it is not this:

But this: (or is it a n image of my interior emotional state after having realized that my son is a FREAK??!! - of course not, I love him!)

To be honest, I think that he sees Monica Bellucci in an in-between state between the previous two images. But in a sarcophagus. That he "carries" everywhere with us! Usually she stays under his bead and he walks around with one of her fingers. My teen desire to become a psychiatrist has been reawakened!

He says he found her at the Dallas Museum of Arts when went to see an exhibit on mummies (!!). Couldn't he come back with Van Gogh or Marie-Antoinette?! Oops, thinking about it, no; he would be walking around with an ear or a head! Let's say that I'm still kind of proud of him because, after all, I studied history... he's following in my footsteps (oh nooooo!).

Tum dum dum dum...!

He says that he gave her magic potion that brought her back to life and she will only talk to him because of that. What is really strange in this story, is that I just finished reading the book from Anne Rice "The Mummy" and that's the plot of the book! Tum dum dum dum...!

Fantastique.

He talks to her, gives her food, says goodnight. He makes his friends look for her sarcophagus in the snow. He even found him a nice companion: another mummy! King Tut. Fantastic.

Let's just say that I prefer by far this representation:

He says that we are now a family of 8: himself, his father, me, Jelly Bean, Slinky, Betta Bêta, Cleopatra and King Tut. Talk about a dysfunctional family!

I think that I am going to make him watch "Drop Dead Fred" for our family therapy. Or "The Exorcist".

Surtout toi! Mais c'est TA normalité!
